Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Fighters Group

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in power within the urban setting.

Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.

The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in the region and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, Teor swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.

What’s Next?
